MISERY SPEAKS unleashed their self-titled debut album in summer 2006, immediately sparking the interest of fans and media alike in a hopelessly flooded market. The German Rock Hard magazine put the album at no. 4 in their Soundcheck, and the likeable quintet earned unanimously positive reactions throughout the media landscape. Following numerous shows, with luminaries of the scene, such as Caliban, Heaven Shall Burn and Neaera, and an intense songwriting process, January 2008 will see the arrival of their second album, “Catalogue Of Carnage”, set to take MISERY SPEAKS to a higher level. Backed by their new label, the renowned label DRAKKAR (Nightwish, Lordi, The Sorrow, Ensiferum, among others), the band from Münster / Germany present themselves more confident and convincing than ever and have come up with an album that you'd expect to hear from a Scandinavian rather than a German act! Songs such as “To My Enemies”, “Lay This Burden Down” or “Sentiment Is Missing” combine perfectly driving brutality with great guitar melodies and hooklines, and atmospheric parts with aggressive eruptions. Like its predecessor, “Catalogue Of Carnage” was recorded and produced by Alexander Dietz, Ralf Müller and Patrick W. Engel in Thuringia at the Rape Of Harmonies Studio (Heaven Shall Burn, etc), and mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity, etc), who gave the songs their compact, yet transparent sound at the Unisound Studio in Sweden and also features as a guest on “Lay This Burden Down” and “Engraved In Stone” (guest vocals), and “Sentiment Is Missing” and “Fall Of Envy” (keyboards). The sound speaks for itself and says more than a thousand words: melodic death metal in perfection!
